What feels like yesterday, our team came together with some of our favorite people to showcase South Tampa’s newest venue, The Orlo. This historic three story home that was built in 1882 by Orlo J. Spafford for his family became the home to the Tampa Women’s Club in 1922 and now sits today as Tampa’s premier event venue, boasting a beautiful 2800 square ft ballroom behind the home with many charming details kept throughout.
I first came upon this venue with our friends at Saltblock Catering and immediately fell in love! Under it’s heavy construction was a venue so fabulous, I knew South Tampa was in for an amazing new space, unlike any other in Tampa’s vastly growing city.
So what did we do…..well, we teamed up with Still Floral and The Ganey’s along with many other talented vendors to create an editorial full of lush details of apricot and dusty rose florals with greenery details throughout. The vision was stunning for a spring wedding in a southern bungalow home nestled in the heart of South Tampa. Boasting of sweet southern details of a charming venue, a grand staircase, soft textures and floral detail, romantic hand written invitations and vintage stamps! – OH, how could I forget? We made sure to include lots of great food detail as well! After all, it’s what truly steals our hearts every time! A phenomenal cuisine prepared in The Orlo’s country kitchen by Saltblock and paired with our favorite drink, the Old Fashioned!
A lounge inspired by European detail provided the perfect backdrop and seating for our bride in the her bridal suite, full of light, floral arrangements and timeless detail, she was pampered for the day as Jessica of Beauty Savage added light touches of makeup and soft curls; perfect touches for our bride’s beautifully detailed wedding gown and stunning bouquet!
Today, we are bringing you everything you need for a stunning equestrian wedding! This southern bride captured with her hubby under Florida’s beautiful Spanish moss, nestled in the perfect setting of Rocking H Ranch. This beautiful plantation home is surrounded by acres upon acres of luxurious landscape and features the most perfect wrap around porch.
When we were approached by Ever After Vintage Weddings on the concept of portraying a Derby styled setting for this sweet couple, we knew this production would steal our hearts and quickly become a favorite! Pairing all of the southern details together was something that made us feel right at home! We wanted the concept to remain classic and portray perfectly the details we knew well!
From the soft tones of peach in the stationery design to the crystal glassware that adorned the tables, every detail was captured perfectly by Ailyn La Torre Photography! And what we love more is the subtle equestrian pops throughout the wedding, capturing our bride’s love for the Kentucky Derby with authentic Derby prize ribbons, a classic Rolls Royce and a Bourbon bar, featuring a favorite specialty cocktail, Mint Juleps! What a better way to welcome your guests?!
Get lost with us in these photos from Jason Mize Photography, as we dream about this Nomadic paradise! It’s like nothing you’ve seen before and we are so honored to be the ones to share it! When we first began in this venture of creating epic wedding inspiration our top priority was to create something unique, especially to this area. A new vision for weddings and a host of gushy details! This nomadic inspiration will have you SWOONING for days!
Organic touches paired with the exquisite lace detail of this Anne Barge wedding dress and slimming silhouette – it just doesn’t get any better.
We met with Malindy Elene Couture for the Bride and chose this dress, we knew we had a winner! I couldn’t think of a more romantic dress to wear on your wedding day! This long sleeve, sheer illusion tulle Anne Barge designer gown is everything that is timeless and classy.
These handmade calligraphy details from Sarah B Calligraphy + soft ribbon pieces have us swooning hard! And we think you’ll agree! All kinds of heart eyes for these beauties!
There were just so many uniquely beautiful features Marigold Flower Co brought to the table. Talk about texture! We were blown away with their creative eye and attention to detail in creating ALL of the floral pieces used for this inspiration!
Because who doesn’t love a well designed bouquet? Your wedding floral can literally make or break your wedding day design, so we are here to help guide you through that process so you can see what a stunning example of design should look like on your big day!
The floral arrangements and the unique containers are a great focal point for your guests, and definitely an area that shouldn’t be overlooked for your wedding day. Don’t you just love the use of color and variety found in these pieces? Most of all, these arrangements add a lot of texture and style to your tablescape and are a designers DREAM!! The asymmetrical design of the flowers chosen keeps your eye wondering among the details.
Our vendors were so amazing to work with for this project! We can’t thank them enough for their commitment, vision and attention to detail! The details brought together for this nomadic wedding inspiration were incredible and so inspiring!
Beautiful blooms adorn the tables of each and every wedding and we LOVE that! But incorporating Wedding cakes as centerpieces was so unique and lovely and we were eager to make that happen. What an incredible idea! We ADORED helping Patrice + Ashlyn make their day special! And when they came to us with the idea of including their guests in the entire experience, we couldn’t wait to help! Trudy Melissa Cakes did a phenomenal job of making 16 perfectly decorated cakes for each of the guests tables. Grab a cup of coffee and let’s get lost in all of the romantic details!! Be sure to view all of the heart felt moments captured by Voila Cinematic!!
Incorporating their families was such an important aspect! We just love how intimate they made the entire wedding day! Each and every last detail was hand picked to assure their marriage was every bit of romantic and lovely!
We just adore these luscious blooms designed by Inna Olimpiyuk Events!! Inna is a local florist specializing in romantic and whimsical design. She travels the country in search of the perfect blooms for her brides and we adore her impeccable eye for design. Aren’t these romantic blooms paired perfectly with a Patrice’s sparkling diamond!!
We adored working closely with Patrice’s photographer, Jacqui Cole and she did such a lovely job capturing all of Patrice’s romantic details.
From the Photographer:
Words from the photographer, Jacqui Cole: Patrice and Ashlyn celebrated their marriage at The Vault in Tampa. This venue is a gem for our small city providing a grand historic backdrop while still feeling romantic and warm. The floor to ceiling windows light up the whole ballroom until the sun sets over your wedding day.
Jennifer from Bourbon and Blush Events helped to bring Patrice’s vision to life! The soft romantic blushes’ of the bridesmaids dresses really stood out against the vibrant pops of marsala and golds. This was carried through the reception decor where a unique cake was at the center of every table! The guests were able to cut into their very own personal cakes! Gold flatware, custom calligraphy paper goods and countless textured linens really brought the space to life.
Patrice, Ashlyn and their family and friends danced the night away until they rode off in their vintage car. The entire day was full of magical moments and I thoroughly enjoyed capturing every one of them! Congratulations Mr and Mrs Parker!
Thank you to Style Me Pretty for featuring Patrice + Ashlyn’s incredible wedding!! Be sure to check out their beautiful feature here.
We couldn’t have made any of this possible without our incredible VENDORS!
This Military couple spent the past 5 years in service to our country, so we donated our Planning & Design services to give them wedding of their dreams!
When I think about the country we live in and the people who selflessly serve in our military, it moves me in a way that is so hard to put down in words. Their dedication and commitment to the protection of our people is incredible. Their fight for our independence, their families fight; none of it goes unappreciated in my eyes. And I wanted to give back in a way that would be meaningful to them. So I donated my time, services and expertise to help plan one of the most special days of their lives. I was honored to serve this couple and to create an entire day for them that they would remember forever. Every detail had it’s place and a special meaning to Kimberlee and Jose.
Jose and Kim met in the Army military and have since spent the last five years together in service to this country. The Retired Jose Cabrera and active duty Kimberlee Ashton joined together and were married by Jose’s Uncle on the day of their fifth wedding anniversary, June 5th 2016. It was so important to them that their family was a part of their union and celebration. And we worked hard through the details, to make sure every moment captured was telling of their lives together.
The couple’s stationery was all handmade and designed around the navy details infused into their wedding.Blush Design Studio did a beautiful job of incorporating a calligraphy escort card display, menu cards and stationery suite. The team also created a custom Ceremony Backdrop that you definitely do NOT want to miss!
Kim and Jose had never before had professional portraits of themselves. So they were deeply moved when Brandi, Alexis June Weddings, a military Air Force Veteran and incredibly talented New York based Wedding Photographer, offered to fly down to capture their special day. In fact, one of Brandi’s favorite moments was the first look. “They were so nervous. It was such a magical moment, They knew that was the only time they would have to be with only each other and they cherished it!!.”
Inna of Inna Olimpiyuk Events did such a beautiful job on bringing in a romantic and lush feel to the room. The soft ivories in Kim’s bouquet really stood out against the vibrant pops of burgundy red and navy. These details were carried out throughout the reception, where vibrant navy crushed satin linens provided by Kate Ryan Linens adorned the tables, complete with burgundy red Dupioni napkins. And we adored the soft, elegant touches of ivory china place settings from Ever After Vintage Weddings.
TheRialto Theatre provided the perfect stage for Kimberlee and Jose! After saying their vows, they enjoyed an incredible menu from Tastes of Tampa Bay! The couple indulged in their beautiful three tier wedding cake and danced the night away to their favorite tunes!
Thank you to ALL of our wonderful vendors!! Together, we were able to make this sweet couples wedding such a beautiful experience! We’d also like to thank you to those of you who came and helped be the extra hand on the day of the wedding!
And a special Thank you to Every Last Detail for featuring this couples’ nuptials! Be sure to hop on over to see the feature HERE!
Love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well.” — Vincent Van Gogh
Our French inspired shoot at Palmetto Bed and Breakfast was the inspiration behind the color palate and the French theme! Everything that Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast offered, from the incredible food menu to the beautiful and intimate details throughout this historic venue, was telling of the owners own personal European style, impeccable. The historic Bed and Breakfast is known for its intimate and classic ambiance and was the perfect place to showcase this French Inspired Bed and Breakfast
Simplicity is sometimes all you need. I am a true believer that every detail is so personal and important, right down to the font on a page. Invitations are the first of many details your guests will experience. This simple detail is the very window to their experience the day of your wedding. Lindsay, of Writefully Simple always does such a wonderful job of capturing that detail perfectly.
The color palette is refreshingly open and everything feels so natural and lovely. Get your french on and see Oh so many fantastic French wedding ideas in our gallery, photographed by Heather Lauren Photography.
2Birds Events did such an outstanding job of perfectly matching the vision through these vibrant and fruitful colors! We just adore the playfulness and wild array of detail!
Wine and oils are an essential part of the South of France and so we wanted to capture the essence of that by infusing the floral arrangements with beautiful purple grapes and market fresh foods! What an incredible feasting table!
We just LOVE these intimatly styled details including handwritten menu, a beautiful wooden farm table and a wonderfully crafted vintage wooden buffet.
An array of delectable eats of French cuisine was crafted beautifully by Table to Farm. Our miniature table desserts included French Vanilla Cake, Naked Pound Cake with Fresh Figs and honey drizzle and savory Buckwheat Honey Crepe with fresh jam compote.
For the big feature, can we just take a moment and enjoy this incredible wedding cake by The Short Giraffe? We love the ombre styling and layers upon layers of edible goodness!
Today, I could not be more proud of the wonderful wedding vendors in our industry and the couples, for whom we do it all. I find myself stunned at what are able to accomplish as a team. We worked beautifully together and our efforts, inspiration and details are all featured on Wedding Chicks!
We are LIVE again and the new website and blog for weddings are in Full Swing!!! Hooray! We could not be more excited to share this feature production with you! Located at one of my favorite venues, Baker’s Ranch! This beautifully rustic ranch is perfectly nestled amid the towering oaks of Parrish, Florida. It is the perfect oasis for anycelebratoryoccasion, including our favorite occasion – Weddings!!!
The inspiration for this wedding styled shoot came directly from my own rebranding process. I recently decided it was time to take on a completely new approach for my Wedding and Event Planning and Design company! In doing so, I knew I wanted to connect with the foundation of who I am and where I am from. As a girl raised in the heart of North Carolina, I wanted to ensure a sweet southern elegance and charm, paired with touches of old south romance and sparkle! I knew Baker’s Ranch was the perfect location and I couldn’t have asked for more hospitable hosts than Boris and Alla.
This set was put together by many talented vendors. Early on, I contacted Rina of Rina Kay Photography to be my right hand in this production. She beautifully captured all of the little details of the shoot! I have admired her as a photographer and knew she would be the perfect fit in capturing a beautiful and timeless romance!
The invitation suite was designed by Lindsay of Writefully Simple! I knew when I went to her for the project she would undoubtedly understand my vision for a whimsical romance underneath the cascading oaks. The menu looks as delicious as ever – I could grab a fork as we speak!! And speaking of fork, what pairs better than a bamboo spoon for our feature favor than The Cake Zone‘s very own Little Tipsy Cakes? If you’ve never tried these spoonfuls of Heaven, you need to stop what you are doing right now and just make it happen! I can’t rave enough about them!
Our bride wore a stunning Amsale wedding gown provided by Blush Bridal of Sarasota, Florida. The ruched bodice couldn’t have fit our bride more perfectly! Layers of silk chiffon effortlessly cascade over this stunning Crimson sofa from Danilyn Vintage Rentals. The florals for today’s feature provided a lush and whimsical layer, full of color and wrapped in soft silk ribbon, elegantly designed by Inna Olimpiyuk Events.
What groom is complete without a perfectly tailored suit from Jackie Z Style Co. I just loved the deep red bow tie that complimented our color palette so well. And Styles by Kelly Anne did such a phenomenal job creating a soft and full bridal updo paired with a natural finish makeup!
Those flutter sleeves of Blush Bridal’s Amsale wedding gown are so swoon worthy and look stunning next to this rustic metal ceremony site!
This centerpiece completed in stone flower vessels, with a bountiful array of red Roses, Veronica, White Stock, Green Hellebores and a touch of Astilbe! Such a romantic combination for your beautiful wedding day!
This gold and blue accented china is paired so elegantly with the gold silverware on this rustic farm table! And it’s adorned with brass candlesticks!
Did anyone call for a barista on their wedding day? We were absolutely over the moon about this detail! Out and About Coffee graced the shoot with their traveling gourmet coffee station. How beautiful is the craftsmanship on this tasty latte? This company is growing fast and caters to all of your wedding day coffee needs!
There are so many fabulous details! And we just couldn’t do a southern wedding inspired shoot without completing it with an outstanding bottle of bourbon… the wooden bar is hand crafted and compliments of Baker’s Ranch!
I was so excited to accentuate this bride and groom wedding suite! And isn’t it the perfect place for a photo opp if you are foregoing the ever-so-popular first look?
Saving the Grande Finale for last, how about this incredibly crafted white and gold wedding cake by The Cake Zone! This show stopper lowers down from the A-frame ceiling of the Baker’s Ranch ballroom. We were sure to give it proper flair with luscious floral.
It was almost a year ago that I began reevaluating my company, the brand it represented and myself as an entrepreneur. I had a very specific goal, which happens to be centered around my love for people, my intense appreciation for design and drive to bring people together for a purpose.
The service industry I grew up in was centered around a welcoming community, great attention to detail and unparalleled customer service. We catered to everything from large fundraisers, corporate events and meetings to wine tasting dinners, bridal showers and of course my favorite reason to celebrate – Weddings! Because I was constantly surrounded by celebrations and events of every kind, my eye for detailed design and coordination was born. I became impressed with many different varieties of cuisine and presentation was always of the highest priority. I studied under my advisories and a passion was ignited.
Today, I am proud to introduce you to a newly branded Bourbon and Blush Events. I truly wake up each day feeling so blessed that I get to do this! Collaborating with other creatives in the field – leaders who are just as passionate about YOU and this wonderful industry as we are, is an absolute dream for me. I have worked hard over the last months developing strategies, researching the top vendors and working with them, analyzing data, and designing a company I am proud of! We would love to be your advocate and your confidant and we hope to be your beginning and your end of planning and design. Welcome to Bourbon and Blush Events!
