Classic meets modern in Pamela and Bryant’s modern Tampa museum wedding. This destination wedding quickly became one of our most loved designs of 2017 when we began working with this couple who happened to live in Hawaii during the planning process. Pamela and Bryant not only kept us on our toes, but provided lots of laughs along the way.

Working with Pamela and Bryant for the year leading up to their wedding felt like a dream! Transforming the modern Tampa Museum into one that enhances the romantic features Pamela had always wanted was our focus in creating this classic mantra of golds, ivory and deep reds. We chose a classic champagne linen, gold beaded glass chargers that were feminine, yet modern in design and beautiful chairs with gold velvet seats, paired with a soft linen napkin to complete the tablescape. For the centerpieces we incorporated an assortment of arrangements in bringing back that modern flare of the museum with black vessels, geo lanterns and an assortment of gold pedestals paired with wildly romantic blooms, which included large burgundy Peonies, Black Hero Tulips, and white Anemones. We also chose acrylic table numbers, for a sleek design and in keeping with their escort display and welcome signs.
The Details

Pamela and Bryant’s invitations were nothing short of stunning. Using the timeless art of letterpress printing, the couple began telling their story through these paper details using a subtle grey font on an ivory linen paper and a beautiful greenery wreath tucked within a dusty rose envelope by A&P Designs.

These two did not stop smiling and laughing on their wedding day, which happens to be our favorite and most treasured detail of all. They were relaxed and enjoyed their celebration surrounded by all of their friends and family.

Where Modern Meets Classic
We chose to incorporate romantic details of greenery and lush florals and pair it with timeless decor. The classic gold centerpieces, gold beaded chargers and gold flatware made for a stunning tablescape.
One of our favorite details about this venue: the floor to ceiling windows that stretch across both sides of this incredibly modern space, allowing for so much light and transparency throughout the reception. You are sure to love it too and it’s one you must see in person!

In working with Pamela and Bryant, we quickly found out that they had different palates when it came to sweets. Luckily, there are several layers of yumminess in this wedding cake, so complimenting both of their tastes was an easy fix! A chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and buttercream for Bryant. And Pamela opted for a vanilla chiffon cake with cream cheese icing. Vanilla buttercream sealed the deal for both classic choices.
For the design, we wanted to incorporate both the romantic and the modern. Using the wreath with pops of large peonies as the focal point of the cake, Hands on Sweets added in touches of modern with a layer of gold art deco, mimicking their linen design perfectly. Adding a layer of marble fondant finishes was the right touch for this modern Tampa museum wedding.

Timeless, classic design cascaded throughout all of the detail, while keeping with the modern influences of the museum and Pamela and Brant’s fun and lighthearted personalities. The large peonies in Pamela’s bouquet complimented her Hayley Paige dress in such a fun and romantic way.
