Alecia and Matt’s Orlo House Wedding
Alecia and Matt’s intimate wedding at the charming south Tampa venue was nothing short of a dream. From the beginning, they expressed wishes of an intimate celebration. They both wanted for their guests to feel at home. And we knew at the onset of our planning process the perfect venue to host reception of their intimate celebration: The Orlo House.
Still under heavy renovation, we walked the space with Alecia, Matt and her parents, combing through every facet of the historical gem. With an abundantly large porch to greet each of their 150 guests, a brick fireplace for a cozy family setting and a beautiful grand entrance staircase, this southern home quickly became the center for which we designed every detail of Alecia and Matt’s wedding day. It was the perfect location, nestled in the heart of downtown Tampa and just minutes away from their church, Sacred Heart.
On Saturday, April 14th, Alecia and Matt exchanged vows in one of Tampa’s most beautiful Cathedral Churches, Sacred Heart. The weather was a perfect sunny day in Florida, amidst the palm trees and underneath the umbrella of the aged oaks growing all around our beautiful city.
At the Orlo House, our team worked diligently, starting on the Friday before the event putting together the many details of their story. We spent hours laying sequined linens that we had chosen with our couple many months prior. We adorned the tables with hand picked gold flatware, scalloped gold rimmed chargers and matching glassware for each of Alecia and Matt’s 150 guests. The menus, set atop the guests place settings, were designed in accordance with their stationery, a beautiful rendering of their venue, The Orlo House.
The Details
With their guests at the forefront of every decision, Alecia and Matt chose the most elegant stationery design featuring a watercolor of their venue matched perfectly with gray letterpress on thick ivory paper. We chose a soft blush envelope which featured stamps, custom made with their initials A | M and a rendering of the estate home.
Upon guests arrival into Tampa, they were greeted with these beautifully prepared welcome gifts, featuring all of Alecia and Matt’s favorite spots in the city and a map to help guide them there. Matched perfectly were these handmade cookies from Hands on Sweets proudly shaped to form the state of Florida and featuring bright palms and hibiscus floral.
Alecia’s Daalarna Couture dress was a dream and floated so magically on the dance floor.
It’s the little moments we cherish most
During our planning and design process, we also work closely with your families, sometimes to plan the rehearsal dinner and day-after brunch, but also for the little moments. Alecia’s mom contacted us to let us know she wanted to have a clutch made for her daughter. The clutch was made out of the wedding dress her mom had worn so many years ago. To compliment the clutch, her mother also had made a sash to tie around the bride’s bouquet as a surprise!
