Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Miami Florida
When deciding on a location for our upcoming editorial, we hoped for a venue that would tell a story rich in its’ history. Upon visiting VIZCAYA, I immediately fell in love with the formal Italian style. It has the history and aesthetic of an old world venue, not quite expected, in Florida.
Inspiration Derived from an Old World Perspective
Drawing inspiration from the venue’s Baroque appearance and meticulously maintained gardens was at the forefront of our approach. We wanted to pair the old world Italian culture and aesthetic with fresh modern-day romance. Her dress, sheer and bending to our bride’s every movement provided a soft texture, long lines, and a sultry yet elegant demeanor. The wings of this classic INES DE SANTO gown were perfectly paired with this old world Italian venue. The bride’s playfulness further captivated the Italian aesthetic perfectly.
Flawlessly complimentary was the detailed laser-cut paper suite with pressed flowers by Emily Baird Design. Her approach to including a custom venue illustration and wild garden inspired envelope liner, sourced from Italy, brought the details together impeccably!
The Gardens of Vizcaya
If you look closely, Vizcaya boasts of hundreds of palatable features. With nooks nestled into every facet of the venues matured landscape, you couldn’t ask for a more ethereal location in Florida than Vizcaya Museum. Guests visiting continuously boast of the richness of heritage and vastness of the gardens.
While there are so many directions you could take when planning your wedding in Florida, and in particular, here at Vizcaya, we think this direction captured these two perfectly.
